Smart Clinical Overview: The Patient Snapshot That Sits Above Every Encounter
product
How the Smart Clinical Overview summarizes a wound care patient's course, active wounds, and treatments — and why it changes the way dictation feeds the AI scribe.
The Smart Clinical Overview lives at the top of the Clinical Note tab. It's a rolling, AI-maintained summary of the patient's wound care course — not a static problem list, and not a chart-wide summary.
What the overview contains
- Active wounds with current stage, size trend, and days since onset
- Recent treatments (debridement, offloading, skin substitute applications)
- Comorbidities that drive healing (diabetes, PAD, venous insufficiency)
- Last visit's plan and any outstanding orders
How it's built
After every signed encounter, the summarizer agent updates the overview from the SOAP note, wound measurements, and orders. By the next visit, the overview already reflects the last plan without a clinician re-reading old notes.
Why it matters for dictation
The overview primes the AI scribe for wound care. When you dictate "unchanged from last visit, continued offloading," the scribe knows what "last visit" was and expands the note accurately.
Where it pulls from
Measurements come from the AI-powered wound imaging module. Healing trends come from the healing dashboard. Diagnoses and orders come from the coding agent.
What it isn't
It isn't a full chart summary or a discharge summary. It's the working context a wound care provider needs in the first 30 seconds of an encounter — nothing more, nothing less.
