Most "quick note" tools still ask for a dozen taps before a chart entry is closed. Simple Notes runs on three clicks — select, input, generate — and this is what's happening under each one.
Click 1 — Select the encounter type
Opening Simple Notes locks the template to a low-complexity SOAP structure: chief complaint, brief subjective, minimal objective, assessment, and plan. No image capture panel, no measurement fields, no coding drawer. The UI stays out of the way so the clinician can focus on the call.
Click 2 — Input via ambient capture or text
Ambient AI capture starts recording the conversation, or the clinician can type a two-line summary. The system extracts patient identifier, medication or complaint, relevant history, and disposition. This is the same capture engine behind the full AI scribe for wound care, scoped down to the elements a simple encounter actually needs.
Click 3 — Generate and sign
The SOAP draft appears in roughly forty seconds. The clinician reviews, edits any field inline, and signs. The signed note lands in the patient's chart inside the AI-powered EMR with a full audit trail.
What's deliberately left out
- Wound imaging and measurement — reserved for Full Encounter
- Healing analytics — belongs on the healing dashboard for visits with measurable wounds
- Coding drawer — a simple encounter rarely warrants a complex code, so the interface doesn't force one
